About Anguilla

Located in the Eastern Caribbean, Anguilla is the most northerly of the Leeward Islands. It is 16 miles long and 3 miles wide, with a total area of 35 square miles. The island has a resident population of approximately 12,000.  This tiny island has 33 white sand beaches with crystal clear water.  Anguilla has a contemporary international style, mouth-watering cuisine, and a large variety of activities to choose from. GETTING TO ANGUILLA – Anguilla’s Clayton J. Lloyd International Airport is easily accessible by air, through the main gateways of Puerto Rico, St. Maarten/Martin, Antigua and St. Kitts.  Ferry transportation to and from Anguilla is convenient, simple, and inexpensive.  The ferries run all day between the hours of 7:30 am and 6:15 pm (departing Anguilla).  The last return ferry to Anguilla departs St. Martin at 7:00 pm.  Ferries run approximately every 30 to 45 minutes, and the trip takes about 25 minutes.

ACCOMMODATIONS – Anguilla offers a wide range of accommodations including upscale resorts and standard resorts.  Couples can chose either a large resort for their Anguilla wedding or one of Anguilla’s smaller boutique resorts.

CREDIT CARDS – All major credit cards and travelers’ checks are widely accepted.

CURRENCY – The currency on Anguilla is the Eastern Caribbean Dollar EC. US currency, however, is accepted throughout the island.

DRINKING WATER – Anguilla, like many islands, uses a desalinization plant that supplies the entire island with fresh drinking water.

ELECTRICITY – As in North America, it is 110 Volts AC.

TIME – Atlantic Standard Time

WHAT TO WEAR – The dress code is informal by day and casually elegant by night.  Swimsuits are not allowed in public areas and nude, or topless swimming, or sunbathing is strictly prohibited.
